How do I know if my body posture is good? How should I sit? What are some tips for sitting that can help me enjoy a perfect fit and healthy body? These questions may seem silly, but they are indeed very important questions to ask yourself while we are trying to improve our health. In order to find out your ideal posture, try this exercise: Stand straight and look forward. Imagine a line going from the top of your head to your ankles (or knees) on both sides. Now place both hands at your sides, one hand directly below the other, about 2-inches apart. Now, without moving any other parts of your body, slowly lean forward until you feel like your chest almost touches your knees. You should feel comfortable now and you don’t need to adjust your back to the wall anymore. This is where you want to start! As you keep leaning forward, feel how your shoulders naturally move backwards a bit. If it feels uncomfortable, then you have reached your ideal posture. Try not to move your arms and legs too much at first. Just make sure to keep your spine neutral as you continue bending forward. Don’t forget to breathe normally. You may want to repeat these steps after a couple days of practice, especially if you are working out and doing exercises. By changing your position frequently, you will be able to notice any changes in your posture.
